Microsoft has decided to shutdown Internet explorer ,after 27 years of service. Infact, it’s being a long and bumby way for the legacy of webbrowsers and it’s slightly a burstout of the nostalgia for the youngster’s in 90’s.
Later, Microsoft focused on proprietary technologies and was least focused on the web standards. That may be reason why the browser performance was not good and people ran away from the browser. I personally love to use explorer in the starting of my career, In 2003 Internet explorer had high usage score and in continued till the establishment of Mozilla Firefox 2004.By the starting of 2005,people started to opt out Explorer and shifted to Mozilla.
In 2008 Google Chrome was introduced and all the techies IT enthusiasts were shifted to chrome and found that all are comfortable with the fast loading response browser.
The browser’s death is not a surprise. Also,it’s not especially inconvenient for a large majority of Internet users in 2022
But it’s been a nostalgic burst out for all the 90’s freshers and techies.
The days of the dial-up internet service might be long gone. And the latest generation cannot even imagine the struggle and the disappointment to use internet while someone else in the house was on the phone.
During those days the only browser was Internet Explorer . And later we all switched to Mozilla Firefox for a better experience .And then by the beginning of 2009 everything was to google chrome..
As per the reports, Microsoft says 0.3% of the internet users still use internet explorer ,and countable number of applications are working using internet explorer browser. And they address not to use the browser anymore as they cannot ensure the support and service. The company cannot address the security concerns ,compatibility issues and the slowing down factors of the browser even if we can use the browser if we want to. An IE mode is enabled for the users to change to if they want to.
After 27 years of support and service Microsof replace Internet Explorer with the latest version of Microsoft Edge browser.
